DENCITY is a series of prints celebrating the density of the Korean Metropolis. It is an urban landscape where all the buildings have been removed and substituted by piles of people. To design this new form of built environment we used an original measuring scale called Motulor. The Motulor is a development of Le Corbusier Modulor and it is a stackable unit that better fits the ever growing size of ultra dense Korean cities.

DENCITY includes the following pieces:
Motulors, stackable units used to measure the new proportions of buildings
City Blocks, low rise apartments with people base
City Squads, low rise apartments with militarized base
Towers, new high rise development (2 prints)
Cut, urban landscape as seen from the middle of an apartment tower (2 prints)

DENCITY was presented for the first time in a Solo Exhibition at Platoon Kunsthalle in Seoul in 2010. Each print is produced in a Limited Edition of 4 (four) units.

DENCITY is a place made of people, and nothing else.

**DENCITY(덴시티)는 한국 대도시의 밀집도를 기념하는 일련의 인쇄물이다. 빽빽하게 들어선 건물들 대신 사람들이 잔뜩 쌓여있는 도시 풍경을 만날 수 있다. 이 새로운 형태의 건축 환경을 설계하기 위해 Motulor(모튤러)라는 우리만의 독창적인 측정 척도를 사용하였다. Motulor(모툴러)는 르 코르뷔지에의 모듈러(Le Corbusier Modulor)를 발전시킨 것으로, 점점 늘어나는 초고밀도 한국 도시의 규모에 더 잘 맞는 적층형 유닛이다.

DENCITY(덴시티)는 다음 작품들로 이루어져 있다:
Motulors(모튤러) - 건물의 새로운 비율을 측정하는 데 사용되는 적측형 유닛
City Blocks(시티 블록) - 인구 기반의 저층 아파트
City Squads(시티 스쿼드) - 군사 인구 기반의 저층 아파트
Towers(타워) - 새로운 고층 개발 (2점)
Cut(컷) - 아파트 타워 가운데서 본 도시 풍경 컷(2점)

DENCITY는 2010년 서울 플래툰 쿤스트할레에서 개최한 개인전에서 처음 선보였다. 각 프린트는 4개 한정판으로 제작되었다.

DENCITY는 사람으로만 이루어진 도시이다. 사람 외 다른 것은 없다.

** 작품명 DENCITY는 작품의 주제이기도 한 밀도를 뜻하는 density(덴시티)의 2,3번째 음절 '시티' 부분을 동음이의어 city(도시)로 대체하여 만든 단어이다. 과밀한 도시의 중의적인 의미를 담는다.
