DUB CURATOR
international hall @GDB 2021
Simone Carena has been appointed curator of the International Hall at the 2021 Gwangju Design Biennale. This edition of the Design Biennale is directed by Kim Hyunsun and will explore the theme of D’REVOLUTION, where D stands for Design, Democracy, Diversity, Digital.
The sub theme selected for the International Hall is DUB REVOLUTION. Dub (dubbing) is the art of remixing a foreign source with local flavors, claiming a new originality. Dub enhances the local interpretation and adaptation of an imported theme, it is a creative Revolution that challenges international overlaps, generating diversity.
The exhibition will offer a selection of dubbed projects from different design fields and it will include the works of artists/groups from 23 different nationalities. The Biennale will run in Gwangju from September 1 to October 31, 2021.

시모네 카레나가 2021 광주디자인비엔날레 국제관 큐레이터로 위촉됐다. 이번 디자인 비엔날레는 김현선 감독으로 D'REVOLUTION을 주제로 탐구할 예정이다. D'는 Design, Democracy, Diversity, Digital을 의미한다.
